Niti Samvaad is a competition conducted by Damodar College of Commerce, in Madgao Goa. Termed as a Undergraduate National Level Colloquium and Competition, it provides the participants with the opportunity to research and write about existing issues in the financial sector in India and to create a prescriptive policy to address these problems.  The very first edition of this competition was conducted in 2017, and the winners were our seniors from the Department of Commerce. In 2018, the winners of the second edition, were also from the Department of Commerce, hopefully setting a new tradition. The team consisted of the Pranay Loya, Ananta Khandelwal and Neha Nithin, guided by Dr Girish S. The team bagged the Best Team Award, Best Policy Prescription Award, Best Question and Answer session. Pranay Loya also won the runners up award for best technical speaker. While the first edition of this competition did not have any prize for the guiding teacher, the second one did, and the award was bagged by Dr Girish S.
The preliminary round of the competition necessitated the participants to send their paper on any of the 2 following topics; ‘Issues Plaguing the Indian Banking Sector’ or ‘Has the Startup Revolution Really begun in India?’ after which, if the paper was selected, the participants would be invited to participate in the finals. The competition the finals were conducted over a span of 2 days, 28th and 29th of September, 2018. The participants were provided accommodation and expenses were reimbursed over the course of the competition. On the last day, after the formal events ended around midday, the hosts took the participants on a guided tour around Madgao and Panaji.
